Working with parents and carers

Parents play a vital role in their children's understanding and development of healthy relationships. Schools should work closely with parents when teaching these subjects, ensuring parents are informed about the curriculum and have the opportunity to understand its purpose and content. Good communication and engagement with parents can help build their confidence in the curriculum and support them in having conversations with their children. Schools should employ a range of approaches to reach out to all parents, drawing on existing mechanisms to facilitate this important partnership between home and school.
