How SCARF supports schools in teaching RSHE
About SCARF
SCARF is a resource used by schools to help them deliver an age-appropriate, developmental curriculum, with lessons that cover Relationships and Health Education. This helps to ensure that schools meet the DfE's statutory requirements.
SCARF also includes broader topics, such as environmental and economic education so that children receive comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. In Scotland this is called Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenting (RSHP) education. The aim is for each child to develop the life skills needed to help them now and in the future, on their journey to adulthood.
